BlogWorld & New Media Expo 2009 Weekend Pass on eBay

I won a weekend pass (worth $495) to Blogworld, but I also earned a pass as a featured speaker. So my good fortune is your good fortune. Win this auction, and you'll have a two-day pass (Oct. 16-17) good for the conference sessions, parties and exhibition hall.

The auction ends at 6:21 p.m. CDT on Thursday, Oct. 8, so get bidding!

BlogWorld & New Media Expo 2009 Weekend Pass

Two-day pass, $495 value

Last day for discount rates on passes, hotels

No pressure but today is the last day to save big bucks on BlogWorld. Update: price deadline extended to Sept. 21.

  • For a weekend pass, it's $395 today and $495 tomorrow.
  • And for a full access pass, the price jumps from $895 to $1,195!

Also, save 20 percent with the registration code BWESEP20. Knock that $395 pass down to $316. Just register by clicking on the giant ad below.

What about hotel rates? Well, you can still get a room for the unheard-of rate of $69 a night. [Update: hotel prices extended till Oct. 1.]

I just checked Southwest, and you can still get airfare for $396 roundtrip, making it about $910 total for the trip (not counting meals). Split a room, and you can knock it down to $800.

What are you waiting for? Let's go to BlogWorld!

My presentation for BlogWorld 2009 will be ...

Just found out over the weekend that my presentation for BlogWorld 2009 will be ...

Instant Startup: Your Very Own School for Blogging

It's not written yet, but the slides are due for inspection on Aug. 15! Guess I better get cracking ...

Here's the proposal I sent back in May ...

Please select the category that best fits your session: Small Business Blogging

Proposed Session Description: Wade Kwon is a journalist without a country, a blogger without direction. He may have awards and thousands of posts, but needs a new challenge.

He loves blogging and teaching. Why not do both?

So in March 2009, Kwon creates the Birmingham Blogging Academy, a classroom of instruction and innovation. He rents space, designs lessons, recruits friends and rings the bell.

Anyone can share tips and tweet links, but how does Kwon turn novices into bloggers? Can know-how really become new business?

I'm excited, probably because I'll be updating my presentation in October (hope it's a good update).
